PLAY IT OR SKIP IT?
You need to play Brawl Stars and Super Smash Bros. in the best way possible. Heck, I’d even recommend this top-notch brawler to people that don’t even like playing fighting games.
TIME PLAYED
I’ve played Flash Party for four hours so far. It took me an hour to unlock a few characters, and each match takes around three to four minutes to finish on the short end, with the timer maxing out and ending any fights that last for six minutes.

WHAT’S AWESOME
• Combat. Nothing beats the feeling of winning a classic brawl—or getting so pumped up after losing that I just need to win the next match. Flash Party does not disappoint in this respect. The invigorating, high-tempo combat had me hooked and always wanting more action. Every combo felt seamless and dynamic, and I never felt like I had to struggle to move my character around the stage.
• Characters. I need to give props for Flash Party’s character design. Each character is carefully made and features a unique play style—and with over twenty characters available so far, there should be someone to suit anyone’s preference. I personally loved playing Mikko because I could fight in close quarters while knocking opponents back repeatedly. If I wanted to play a character I didn’t have, I could also test them out in a testing mode. Although some characters are locked behind a paywall, I still had a blast with the few I got for free.

• Aesthetic. Man, I have to say, Flash Party looks top-notch. The game’s beautiful, polished, and so satisfying to look at. Each character and battlefield looks so different, yet unique to Flash Party itself. I can’t deny that I might’ve lost a few matches just because I was mesmerized by a character I hadn’t seen.
WHAT SUCKS
• Paywalls. Despite having so much fun with the characters that I got, I wish I could’ve tried some of the cooler ones. It irked me to know that I needed to spend a decent amount of money to acquire characters in Flash Party.
