Recommended Hardware Requirements: Snapdragon 865/Kirin 990 or higher, 8GB RAM or higher, Android device running Android 10 or higher. Suggestion: the [PC version] from the [Dark and Light Mobile New Cross- official website] to get a better gaming experience. it shouldn't have been choppy for you so it's clearly their end that needs some fixing, your device ram is more than sufficient and it was laggy damn
