Translate
The Way Home: Pixel Roguelike is action-packed adventure and survival game with colorful pixel art style and locations that reminds of the retro games. This casual but also quite challenging game with elements of roguelike and exploration complements the line of games developed by CONCODE.
The premise is simple yet engaging: you are a protagonist, Kevin, who wakes up one day as a cat on an unknown island, and your goal is to escape. In it, you traverse procedurally generated dungeons, scavenge, build weapons and armour, and fight against enemies which constantly increase in difficulty. This makes each run feel unique and different which definitely helps with the replay value of the game.
What can be said about The Way Home? It has rather engaging pixel art. It is colorful and the design is quite sharp which makes one feel like they are playing an old school game instantly. These animations are quite fluid, and each environment is filled with many nice touches making the game’s world feel realistic. Combined with the highly engaging background music and good sound, the game offers a good sense of the five senses.
From the game perspective, the ratio of fighting and thinking is perfectly fine [original text – The fighting thinking ratio is quite good indeed]. In turn, it is necessary to monitor the resource consumption while traveling through the dungeons containing traps and enemies. It increases from one level to the other to make the different levels of difficulty seem real. Surprisingly, the combat is quite strategic; you have to be fast with your fingers, and the item usage adds to the complexity of the game.
Overall, The Way Home: Pixel Roguelike is a nice game if you like pixel art graphics, roguelike games, and survival genre. First of all, it looks very nice, it is interesting to play and it has great replay value which makes this game one of the best in the genre..
