Refactor

any original idea can be made good with enough work. a basic tower defense game while you build out the battlefield with tetris pieces? sure. only minorly different from Fieldrunners, but with enough work, sure. sadly, "GaGa Games is a gaming company founded in 2020 by professionals who live marketing" from the developer's website haha. so yes, they didn't put enough work into it to make it worth playing

Fun tower defence game with a little twist. I love tower defence games since they are easy to pick up and play and there is considerable amount of strategy involved. This brand new addition to the genre brings an extra dimension to it by enabling to alter the path that waves take to your base. You have to buy blocks that seem like inspired from Tetris(Good Job!) Which have some basic plates and a turret plate. By using these blocks, you can alter the path a wave takes since it picks the shortest route which introduces another dimension of strategy to normal tower defence.

the game is so much fun, theres a wide variety of towers to unlock or build, the mechanics of the game is hard, but it is explained perfectly by the tutorial which prepares you for the overall game, although the tutorial only teaches you about 1 or 2 things about how to refactor and make the track longer, i think thats a good approach to teaching new players as that approach gives difficulty to levels to come which if you ask me is a very steep difficulty drop and that style of approach is also good as it engages the player's brain making the player think strategically about which tower to refactor, when to build new tracks, when to upgrade the system and where to put certain types of towers, that approach which doesnt baby the player by hand feeding them with the answer is the best approach on how to teach players the mechanics especially since this is a TD game where critical and strategic thinking is required but nonetheless, if you make it through that you will learn new stuff which is so fun, overall 9.6 / 10 game

A very good tower defense game but the randomness of the towers drained a lot of the fun from the game.  I dont mean the floor tiles but levels of the towers.  For example at wave 23/30 i dont really need a choice of 3 level one towers or a level 1, 2 and 3 splash cannon tower.  The randomness of the rafactor towers doesnt help either.  The problem with this is that you cant wers.  I understand that its suppose to be that i use what i get to the best if my abilities but it often felt like i was just stalling the enemies.

This review is for Pocket Playfest First impression: - TD + Tetris? This review based on my around 10 mins of gameplay - potato phone friendly, my phone can play this game smoothly on default settings  - feels finished - gameplay is interesting, you can manipulate enemy path so you can make it as long as possible - unlike most TD game, time freeze before next enemy wave so you can strategize with no pressure until you press next wave

I believe that Refactor, although quite unique, just adds an unnecessary luck-based factor to the Tower Defense genre through it's new core gameplay and to be perfectly honest, I don't think that it is enough to compete with other leading titles of the same genre like Mindustry. The new mechanic makes you strategize more on turret placements by adding randomness to the mix. "At lower levels the randomization of modules may not pose a problem but at higher difficulties where gold might be scarce and positioning is vital every turn, Players will then be stuck restarting levels just to find the best starting modules they can get. Continuing down this path would limit the difficulty cap of this game very quickly, limit the devs options when considering higher levels/gold drops/enemies, and limit player creativity in later levels."

Tetris🤝TD = Refactor. You have to protect your base from the enemy by strategically placing turrets. There are five element turrets - Fire, Water, Earth, Wood and Metal. You need tokens to place turrets and the cost decreases after every round. You have to choose among three turrets placed on three tetris tiles. After choosing one, you can rotate it to increase the distance between your home base(blue tile) and the enemy spawn point(red tile).

This is a review for a game demo «No screenshots as the tutorial resets every time you quit it» Refactor is an Tower Defense Rougelike, yes you heard me right, TD Rougelike. So how good is it? Gameplay ittedly I did not make it past the tutorial, I am becoming more and more like an IGN reviewer; However, from the gameplay I saw the gameplay is simple. You build defenses and infrastructure to defend against waves, with a fun mechanic wear you can manipulate how waves spawn with how you place turrets.

Refactor is a pretty great tower defense and totally worth playing, but I still had a few complaints. First, the tutorial. It's a lot. I was bored out of my mind by that much reading. The game doesn't allow you to simply play and have fun. It makes you read all the tutorial text, even then some of the stuff the character is explaining is pretty obvious, or that you could easily learn by yourself. The build button has no comeback option, so I can't cancel it after touching it. Sometimes I didn't find good builds to build in that round, but I was forced for the game lack of a cancel button in this option.

Refractor was am experience I think more people should get. It's a puzzle like tower defense game and really showed off what it can do. And while Tower Defense games aren't my cup of tea this one really surprised me. Keep going I love this! ❤️
